I never really had an opinon on Miss Teen beauty pageants until recently. I never watched them in the past. I really didn’t (and still don’t think) that teenagers have anything important to say beyond whining about their lives. Maybe they do, but honestly…. do I care?

In any case, I didn’t care for teen pageants, but now I think I am actively hostile. Given the alarming cases of adult predators on the Internet, do we really need pictures of teenaged girls in bikinis?

Miss Teen USA 2007

Anyway, you decide.

For those who want more information, go to Donald Trump’s Miss Teen USA site here.

And you can vote for Miss Teen USA Photogenic here.

From the NBC website
“The reigning Miss Teen USA 2006 Katie Blair will crown the new Miss Teen USA 2007, hosted by Mario Lopez, live from Pasadena, California on Friday, August 24th. The telecast will include performances by Epic Recording Artist Kat DeLuna and Hollywood Records Jonas Brothers. Each of the 51 delegates will compete in three categories including swimsuit, evening gown and interview. The panel of celebrity judges, including Amiee Teegarden, Joey Lawrence, and Melissa Joan Hart to name a few, will decide who gets crowned the next Miss Teen USA. The online audience, as in previous years, will choose Miss Photogenic and then watch as the winner is announced during the live telecast.”

  1. I have to admit that I used to watch the Miss America contests religiously. But, anymore, I find that these types of contests probably just help pressure us to look a certain way and that our worth is wrapped up in our outer beauty.
